Transformation!

A lot has happened in my life since the last time i've posted. The most transforming is a short term mission trip to Rwanda Africa that I went on. On Mother's day 2004, I had the privilege to sponsor a little girl from Rwanda. Madeleine is 8 years old and quite precious. On this trip I had the most incredible opportunity to meet her, as well as her mother and little brother. I traveled with an amazing team of people that I will treasure in my heart forever. My love for them is indescribable. It's challenging to put my thoughts and feelings into words.

Anyway, the people of Rwanda are an incredible culture of faith, love & hope. Their simplicity amazed me, their unity had me wanting to stay. They truly make sure everyone's needs are met equally, at least the majority to what I had seen and I mean that culturally; I'm sure there are very bad situations there. But for what I had seen my heart was so filled with joy from the way they welcomed us into their land. When I saw the poverty and those with HIV aids and other diseases, those suffering the repercussions of Genocide, the children that are undernourished and orphaned, my heart cried out to God for an answer to this oppression and this is what He says, "The Lord works righteouness and justice for all the oppressed" Psalm 103:6

You can see and feel the Lords presence in that land! The people are filled with so much hope and love. They're building their lives and the country. Justice is prevailing. Righteousness is among those living in Rwanda. They're building the Kingdom of God in the name of Jesus Christ and people are coming alongside one another to overcome what has been taken away from them. They're building their integrity and dignity. They loved me deeply while I was there, from the children to the adults, thoses who worked and those who couldn't, it didn't matter. I am in awe!

Our society is materially rich while theirs is poor, yet they are spiritually rich and we are spoiled!
